Former Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Presiding Member Abraham Boadi has questioned why Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta suggested Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia was a perfect successor to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
According to Boadi, After the April 7 State of the Economy presentation, where he praised Bawumia’s performance, Ofori-Atta did not provide any rationale for his words.
“Ken Ofori-credibility Atta’s has sunk to the point that he has the gravitas to go about telling party members to vote for Bawumia. “The NPP’s problem is the two of them,” he said on Abusua FM last week. “Ask regular people on the street, Ken is popular for all the wrong reasons.”
“His remarks, in my opinion, are vacuous and unjustified. I’m not aware of his political clout and clout in the party, therefore I’m surprised he’s come to tell us that Bawumia’s delivery demonstrates that he can succeed Nana. He questioned, “How can Bawumia succeed Nana?”
Boadi is well-known for being an outspoken supporter of Alan Kyerematen. He insisted that Alan would be the NPP’s flagbearer come rain or shine, and that the opposition NDC would not be allowed to ‘trick’ party members into voting for anyone else.
