Gyakye Quayson Will Win Assin North Seat Even From Prison – Michael Afrane

Kumawood actor and NDC member, Michael Afrane has stated that James Gyakye Quayson will continue to represent the party in Assin North notwithstanding any maneuvers made by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He said he has no concerns that residents will support him heavily in the by-election on June 27, 2023, even if he is imprisoned and in prison before to that date.

If proven guilty of criminal charges for perjury, the former Assin North constituency MP and NDC parliamentary candidate might spend 10 years in prison performing hard labor.

The Supreme Court ordered that his name be removed from the list of lawmakers after he was accused of running in the constituency’s 2020 parliamentary elections as a dual citizen.

The well-known Kumawood actor stressed that the residents of Assin North Constituency had seen President Akufo-Addo’s government and NPP’s harsh and unfair behavior towards their Member of Parliament.

Michael Afrane stated to Osei Kwadwo, “Even though James Gyakye Quayson is in jail, the residents of Assin North Constituency are eager to give him victory by voting en masse for him.”

Michael Afrane asserts that the NPP will still lose the elections even if they distribute all the rice and other luxuries in Ghana. The Kumawu Constituency, where the NPP won the by-elections by distributing rice, gari, and money, is distinct from Assin North Constituency. In Assin North, it will never occur, he was confident.

The inhabitants of Assin North will vote based on development, and under James Gyakye Quayson’s leadership, they have seen significant development projects. Because it is untrue that James Gyakye Quayson will be jailed, NPP members ought to cease propagating this misinformation. No amount of propaganda will be able to win the Assin North Constituency for the NPP.
