Godfred Dame Must Stop Making Prejudicial Comments On Assin North MP’s Case – Dafeamekpor

South Dayi Member of Parliament, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has told the Minister of Justice and Attorney General to stop making prejudicial pronouncements on the case involving Assin North Member of Parliament, James Gyekye Quayson.

He said the case against the embattled lawmaker is not over yet hence, no need to make comments that seem to be going ahead of the judge.

Speaking in interview with TV3, Mr Dafeamekopor said “The Attorney General is running ahead of himself, he is my senior at the Bar and he is also the head of the Bar and he is a Minister of Justice, he is not a Minister of Justice for the government or for the NPP people, he is the Minister of Justice for every Ghanaian, he must remember that.

“When you have a Ghanaian who is in court and he is pursuing his rights under law, the best the Attorney General has to do is to be silent and allow the court to make final pronouncement. The Honorable Quayson is still in court, he is in the Court of Appeal, the appeal is not dead.

“So the AG should stop commenting and making final pronouncements that his seat has been declared vacant by a court of law, that hasn’t happened.”
