Go To Court If You Don’t Understand Your Removal – Ashanti Regional Minister Tells Security Coordinator

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah has advised the removed Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator, DCOP (rtd) Ayensu Opare-Addo to proceed to court if he wishes to challenge his removal from office.

Mr Opare-Addo narrated on the media yesterday, events that led to his forced removal from office as Regional Security Coordinator.

Narrating his ordeal on Joy News, DCOP (Rtd) Ayensu Opare Addo recounted how personnel of the delta force handcuffed him and removed him from office, claiming they were acting on orders from above.

According to DCOP Opare Addo, even when he asked to urinate, he was followed to the bathroom by one of the personnel who instructed him to remove his manhood in his presence.

However, in a radio interview on Accra-based Okay FM, Mr Osei Mensah said Mr Opare-Addo tried to ignore a notice to him to vacate the office.

Explaining, he said as a Regional Minister, he himself received a letter notifying him that a new Regional Security Coordinator had been appointed.

He said he spoke to Mr Opare-Addo about the development but he later received information from Mr Opare-Addo that he had been asked to continue with his work.

Mr Osei Mensah indicated that Mr Opare-Addo had attempted to stay in office disregarding the notice on the appointment of a new person.

To him, it was needless for such a high ranking officer to be engaging in a media war in matters like this when he can get it amicably resolved.
