Give Mahama Credit For Investing 70% In Digitization Infrastructure – Adongo Chases Bawumia
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga Central, Albert Adongo has said the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) under former president John Mahama embarked on a solid digitization drive that has enhanced the digitalization agenda of the current government.
Speaking to ‘Gumbe Show’ host Mugabe Maase on TV XYZ Thursday night, the financial analyst argued that without the digital infrastructure laid down by the Mahama administration, the Akufo-Addo government would not have reaped fruits in the digital space.
He mentioned the building of the Accra Digital Centre and the Data Centre as one of the main pillars the NPP’s digital agenda is thriving on.
“One of the brilliant projects our government embarked on in the digital space that created jobs is the Accra Digital Centre, ” he said.
” A lot of our young ones are have gotten jobs and others are signing huge contracts with multinational companies, ” he said in Akan ” They are here in Ghana and working for firms in USA, China and other countries.
His comments come barely a week after Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia held a lecture at the Ashesi University about the successes of the Akufo-Addo government in the area if digitalization.
Bawumia touted their achievements without acknowledging the efforts of the previous government.
But Adongo believes the Mahama government deserves credit for the significant contributions they made in that space.
