Veteran Ghanaian journalist, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has hinted that Ghana’s airports will be opened to international traffic by 1st September, 2020.
According to the Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, this is to allow Ghanaians abroad who would want to register for the voters ID card do so ahead of the 2020 December polls.
The country’s borders have been shut since March, 2020 as part of the measures to mitigate against the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
“In doing some checks within the corridors of power, hint dropped into my ears possibly, the airports might be reopened 1st September. The land borders will remain closed,” Kweku Baako said.
The ace journalist, however, indicated that the three land boarders will remain closed to human traffic.
Mr Baako’s revelations on Newsfile on Saturday, come at the time where the election management body ended its mass registration exercise on August 8.
