Ghanaians Must Start Rejecting Foreign Election Observer Missions – Prof Gyampo

Prof Ransford Gyampo, Political science lecturer at the University of Ghana has urged the country to kick against foreign election observer missions.

According to him, the country’s growing democracy proves that our local election observers are capable of doing what the foreign observers do.

He noted that the foreign observers add nothing knew or important to what the local observers like the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) say.

“I think as a country we must start kicking against foreign observer missions because they don’t say anything new that we don’t know already.

“They don’t say anything that important local election observation missions like the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) have said that they keep saying and is reported on. And so, I think as we are growing our democracy, we must begin to place much emphasis on our own, our local election observer missions and what they say.”
