Ghanaians Do Not Vote On Infrastructure Alone, They Also Consider Social Interventions – Oppong Nkrumah Tells NDC

Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has debunked the assertion by the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the implementation of the Free Senior High School Policy is the only thing the ruling party mentions as its achievement.

According to him, the Free Senior High School is among the many things that President Akufo-Addo and his Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia have done.

But the Information Minister on Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ Morning Show reacting to the assertion of the NDC said that the NPP is not bothered by such words coming from the opposition as they said the same thing prior to the 2016 elections.

“If the NDC says that the governing NPP will lose the upcoming election, it does not bother me because in 2016 they said that they were in a comfortable lead and in the end, we all saw what happened in the 2016 elections. We will not worry ourselves with that assertion of the NDC,” he said.

He, however, reminded the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to consider the fact that Ghanaians do not vote base on infrastructure alone as they take into consideration social intervention programs.

“If the NDC is basing the election on infrastructure alone, what we are saying is that governance is about touching many areas of life before tackling infrastructure. We can show the areas of life we have touched,” he stressed.
