Ghanaians Did Not Want You To Exploit Them To Fund Your Corruption – Apaak To Akufo-Addo

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South Dr. Clement Apaak has asserted that the reason why the expected revenue was not achieved following the implementation of the E-Levy was that Ghanaians refused to be exploited.

Still describing the E-Levy as obnoxious and a killer tax, he said Ghanaians did not want the corrupt President Akuf-Addo and Vice Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to exploit them to fund their corruption.

In a series of tweets, the lawmaker stated that

”KILLER E-Levy flop – Kudos to the good people of Ghana for refusing to be exploited by the corrupt and unaccountable NADAA/Bawumia NPP government via the obnoxious, regressive, unjustified E-levy foisted on them. I pray more Ghanaians will avoid paying E-Levy. #AriseGhanaDemo’.’

Dr. Apaak stated that the Minority provided other humane approaches with the government could have used in generating more revenue but they failed to listen.

”Killer E-levy flop – We gave humane options of raising revenue, they refused: plug revenue loopholes at the ports; stop tax exemptions, pass the law to that effect; act on findings of the Auditor General; cut down on none critical expenditure; luxury travels, legacy projects!”

He slammed the government and accused it of arrogantly scrapping the road toll levy.

He added that the government failed to examine all expectations and outcomes before implementing the levy.

”Killer E-Levy flop – They arrogantly and capriciously cancelled road tolls, spent our money holding predetermined city, town and village hall fora/meetings, largely, feeding themselves, their party people, while blocking out genuine critical voices!

Killer E-Levy flop – They claimed Ghanaians supported E-Levy, and, we were pushing propaganda when it was obvious the opposite was true. Now the verdict is clear, the masses have rejected E-Levy. They forced a donkey to the river but can’t force it to drink H2O.”
