Black Stars will play Brazil in a friendly match ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced on Friday.
The decision was made after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided to postpone the matches of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
Brazil is the most successful team in the history of the World Cup and they present a great opportunity for Ghana to test themselves against South American opposition.
The Black Stars were drawn against Uruguay in Group H, also a South American team.
The Seleccao will also be testing themselves against a West African team ahead of the global showcase after drawing against Cameroon in Group G.
The game between Ghana and Brazil will take place on Friday, September 23, 2022, but the venue is yet to be decided. According to the GFA, the game will be played in Europe.
Black Stars will play Switzerland in a friendly seven days prior to their first game in Qatar.
Black Stars will begin their World Cup campaign against Portugal, then take on South Korea before their last group match against Uruguay.
