Ghana Needs A New Chief Justice To Repair Supreme Court’s Broken Image – John Mahama

Former President John Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has described Ghana’s Supreme Court as suffering a credibility crisis that has the tendency of threatening the country’s democracy.

According to the former president, the supreme court’s perceived hostility and political bias especially at the apex courts is quite troubling and one that the court urgently needs to address.

According to the former president, the current chief justice is unfortunately unable to lead the rebirth process of the Supreme Court.

The former president was categorical that Chief Justice Anin Yeboah is unable to lead the process of re-birthing the credibility of the apex court and that only a new chief justice will be able to initiate such a process.

Mr. Mahama was speaking at a forum held for lawyers in the opposition National Democratic Congress.
