An Accra High Court (Commercial Court 10), has found social media commentator, Kelvin Taylor guilty of defamatory statements against cousin of President Nana Akufo-Addo and a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko.
Kelvin Taylor had made claims that Gabby benefited from the PDS scandal which rocked the country months ago. He also claimed that Gabby owned a property in the plushest part of London, Mayfair, adding that he bought the property with profits made from the PDS scandal.
This made Gabby directed his lawyers to file a defamatory suit against Kelvin in October 2019.
Ruling on the case today, StarrFMonline reported that the court found that Kevin Taylor had, without any basis, whatsoever, made very serious defamatory comments against Gabby Otchere-Darko.
The court therefore awarded damages in the sum of One Million cedis in the favour of the plaintiff, due to the seriousness of the defamatory matter published by Kevin Taylor.
