Fix The Country Movement Needs Massive Fixing – EFL Breaks Away From Movement Citing ‘Political Galamsey’, Selfish Interest And ‘Chop-Chop’

All is not well with Pressure Group, Fix The Country Movement, after it emerged yesterday that the Economic Fighters League (EFL), one of the member groups of the movement have broken away.

The EFL, led by its Commander in Chief, Ernesto Yeboah has accused the convenors of the Fix The Country Movement including Oliver Barker Vormawor and Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah of flirting with the opposition NDC in attempts to line their individual pockets.

Giving further clarity on the split on Eyewitness News on Citi FM, the National Spokesperson of the EFL, Nii Ayi Opare, stressed that the EFL wished to become a viable political alternative for Ghanaians.

“It would be irresponsible of us and quite unfair to the people of Ghana if we continue agitating and making noise for change without presenting a political alternative to the status quo.”

“The responsibility is on us to present a political alternative to the NDC and the NPP, otherwise all the noise we are making will be just that,” Mr. Opare said.

In a live video yesterday evening, Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah rubbished the allegations by Ernesto Yeboah and his Economic Fighters League, labeling him an opportunist whose sole aim is to ride on the name of the Fix The Country Movement to present himself as a political alternative to Ghanaians.

Okatakyie Afrifa, however, denounced the claims of ‘political galamsey’ insisting that his motive and that of his movement is to awaken the conscience of Ghanaians to demand better Governance.
