In a move that appears to be a well calculated propaganda effort, the Ministry of Finance has released a document which appears to suggest that then President John Mahama approved the payment of salaries to his wife, Lordina Mahama and second lady, Matilda Amissah Arthur.
This document comes at a time when the former president has publicly rejected the decision by President Akufo-Addo to pay salaries to the first and second lady based on the recommendations of the Ntiamoah-Baidu committee.
President Akufo-Addo has come under severe criticism following this decision at a time when salaries for public sector workers have been frozen as a result of the COVID-19 effect on the economy.
