According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Ifeoma Ossai was arrested by police on Saturday, March 11 following the unfortunate death of her 50-year-old landlord, Monday Oladele, in Sango-Ota over Electricity Bill.

In a statement confirming the event, the state Police Spokesman, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, stated that the suspect was apprehended after a report was submitted at the Sango Ota Divisional Headquarters by one Olaleye Taiwo.

According to the police chief, the complainant said that his brother had a conflict with his tenant about the payment of an electricity bill.

He went on to say that during the argument, Ossai grabbed the deceased’s private portion and dragged him with it.

The landlord collapsed unconscious and was transported to Ota General Hospital, where the attending doctor pronounced him dead.

“Upon the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Sango Ota Division, CSP Saleh Dahiru, led his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested and taken to custody for investigation.

“On interrogation, the suspect claimed that the deceased asked her to pay for electricity bill.

“But she insisted that until water was directly connected to her apartment as promised by the landlord before she packed in she would not pay the electricity or any other utility bill,” the statement said.

According to NAN, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, has directed that the suspect be immediately transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department’s homicide department for comprehensive investigation and prosecution.
