Three people sustained gunshot and matches wounds whilst properties were also vandalized when residents of Kasoa Opeikuma were attacked by unknown assailants.
The men, numbering about 18 were said to be riding on motor bikes to the Kasoa Opeikuma Chief Palace where there were traditional rites ongoing for the installation of a new Chief.
Nana Oko Booban Kwaa Otanyi, Chief of Opeikuma-Kumbe narrated that, he and other elders of the palace were actually in the act of performing customary rituals to install the Benkumhene of the town when the incident happened.
He revealed that properties estimated to be about thousands of cedis were destroyed whilst some residents also sustained gunshot wounds.
He therefore appealed to the police to investigate and bring the orchestrators to face the law.
Residents of the area also called on the IGP to tighten the security at the area as the security loop holes keep getting murkier with each passing day.
