Families Of 2 Girls Who Went Missing In Nigeria Insist Their Girls Are Alive

The families of Celine Ndudim and Afiba Tandor, two young women who vanished on April 27, 2024, after visiting a businessman in Aba town, are appealing to authorities and the public for heightened search efforts, expressing their unwavering belief that the women are still alive.

Tessy Ndudim, sister of Celine, has been actively advocating for assistance since the day her sister and her friend disappeared. According to Tessy, Celine had contacted her on the day of their disappearance, informing her that the man they were visiting had kidnapped them. Despite filing a complaint with the Aba police, Tessy voiced her frustration over what she described as a delayed and ineffective response from law enforcement.

Persistent in her pursuit of justice, Tessy’s efforts led to the eventual arrest of the primary suspect, Andrew Amechi, by the Umuahia Command following a petition to Police Zone 9. Reports have since surfaced indicating that Amechi, a self-styled businessman, allegedly murdered the two women before his own death during an attempted escape from arrest.

Tessy Ndudim recounted the distressing sequence of events in an interview with BBC News Pidgin, underscoring the urgent need for more robust investigative actions. She implored the Abia State government to intervene, highlighting similar grievances from other individuals in the community.

Similarly, Afiba Tandor’s husband expressed his dismay over the handling of the case. He reiterated his firm belief that his wife remains alive and called upon the Nigerian police to amplify their efforts in locating and rescuing the missing women.

The families of Celine Ndudim and Afiba Tandor remain hopeful that continued investigations will uncover the whereabouts of the two women, bringing resolution to this harrowing ordeal and ensuring their safe return. They urge the authorities to prioritize this case and intensify search and rescue operations in a bid to uncover the truth and provide closure.

As the situation develops, the families and the community at large await decisive action from the authorities to address this distressing disappearance and restore faith in the safety and security of residents in Abia State.
