Fake Agyapadie Book Was Written By Prof. Naana Opoku Agyemang – Wontumi Alleges
Bernard Antwi Bosiako, widely known as Chairman Wontumi and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has alleged that Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang is behind the contentious “Agyapadie” document. In an interview on Abusua FM, Chairman Wontumi claimed that the book, which he described as propaganda, is being used by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in their election campaign.
“Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang authored the ‘Agyapadie’ book, but she chose not to attach her name to it. If you compare the contents of her book to the statements made by John Mahama, you’ll see a clear connection. They did the same during President Kufuor’s time,” Wontumi asserted.
Similarly, Ernest Owusu-Bempah, Deputy Director of Communications for the NPP, argued that the NDC lacks a robust campaign message for the 2024 general elections. He accused the NDC of leveraging the “Agyapadie” document to spread misinformation about President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
“As we approach the 2024 elections, key figures in the NDC have resorted to a new tactic: persistently pushing their big lie to the average Ghanaian, hoping to reverse their declining political fortunes. This strategy is central to the fabricated ‘Agyapadie’ publication,” Owusu-Bempah stated.
The 38-page document, which lacks a named author, features images of the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, on the cover, with President Nana Akufo-Addo and his late father on the subsequent page. The Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, has dismissed the document as fiction, claiming it is a fabrication by those intent on inciting hatred against the Ofori Panin family and Okyeman.
Owusu-Bempah contends that the NDC’s strategy revolves around misleading Ghanaians to gain political power, using the “Agyapadie” document as a key tool in their campaign.
