The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta Akyea, has dismissed recent prophecies by Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International regarding the outcome of the 2024 general elections.
On October 1, during a prayer session in Accra, Rev. Owusu Bempah prophesied that John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), would win the upcoming elections. The pastor claimed that God had chosen to give Mahama another opportunity to lead Ghana, praising his “kind heart” as a reason for the divine favor.
However, in an interview on AsaasePa FM on October 2, Atta Akyea expressed skepticism about the prophecy, calling it a mere human projection rather than a message from God. He voiced disappointment in Rev. Owusu Bempah, suggesting that the pastor had allowed himself to be used for political purposes at an NDC rally under the guise of a spiritual gathering.
Atta Akyea stated, “I am sad because I know Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, and he shouldn’t have allowed himself to be used in such a manner.” He further expressed concern over what he saw as a contradiction in the pastor’s role, noting that it undermined the credibility of the prophecy.
