National organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku in an interview on Neat Fm has said the NPP has no plans to spend extravagantly like the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) did in 2016.
According to him the NPP is going to be smart and strategic with their campaign this election year.
Ghana experiences lots of campaign activities during election years including the mounting of huge billboards of presidential candidates of various parties across the country.
The airwaves is filled with political songs, especially, that of the two major political parties, NPP and NDC.
However, the Coronavirus pandemic has made things take a different turn this year as political parties are unable to embark on various trails of campaign and the ‘pomp’ that comes with it.
For this reason, Sammi Awuku said his party is going to do things a little bit different this year because things have changed.
“Our lives have changed; we need to be smart and strategic to reach the voter. We will not run an extravagant campaign; we will run a campaign that depicts the morals of our sitting President. We will not have a flashy flamboyant campaign like the NDC did in 2016,” he intimated.
