Either Akufo-Addo And His A-Gs Benefit From Judgement Debts Or Are Just ‘Dumb’ – Otokunor Fires

Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Boamah Otokunor has descended on the Akufo-Addo government for their role in the several judgement debts suffered by the country for few years now.

Speaking on XYZ tonight, he wondered if the Attorney Generals who act on behalf of the state whenever it is sued in court for failed contracts, benefits from the judgement debts incurred or are just clearly incompetent.

His reaction comes on the back of a $170m judgment debt suffered by the sate after a contract between the state and an independent power contractor, Ghana Power Generation Company (GPGC) was terminated.

To him, President Akufo-Addo and his government have had a history of finding ways to steal from the country citing the Ameri, PDS and Agyapa deal.

“Every country that is serious needs to have enough power for the citizens and that is why we signed a contract with the company to help get a stable power…And even when the NPP came to power, they acknowledged the country had excess power but Boakye Agyarko [former Minister for Energy] said the company was not performing well and that is why they abrogated the contract,” Otokunor said.
