The Electoral Commission has announced that it’ll announce the winner of the 2020 Presidential polls by close of today Wednesday December 9, 2020.
This comes after the EC postponed it earlier stated time yesterday December 8 citing citing a number of reasons for the decision.
The commission noted that heavy rains in some regions made it impossible for the 24-hour ultimatum they gave themselves to announce the winner impossible.
Furthermore, to ensure credibility, they had to make sure all votes are duly counted.
“We are hoping that in the early hours of this morning we will receive two additional results and we will thereafter make the declaration for the winner of the Presidential elections,” Mrs. Jean Mensa, the EC chair said at a press briefing on Wednesday [December 9, 2020] dawn at 12:30 am.
