The Electoral Commission, pursuant to an order of the High Court, has finally produced the original Collation Sheet for Techiman South for the inspection of the Petitioner.
Techiman South Parliamentary Election became a bone of contention in the 2020 Election, with the NDC claiming to have won the seat even though the EC declared otherwise.
At the last sitting of the court, a 2000 cedis cost was awarded to the Petitioner, the NDC candidate, Christopher Beyere after the EC failed to comply with the court’s directive to provide the original Collation Sheet for inspection.
However, the EC finally produced the original document in court yesterday.
In a quite dramatic scene, the NDC, led by General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, stormed the court premises with a Photocopier and a power generator ina anticipation of the erratic power supply (Dumsor) which nearly prevented them from accessing the documents.
The NDC is expected to study the document and ask questions in cross examination.
