Does the name ring a bell? Well, hold your breath, you are in for one hell of a ride as Akim-Oda’s latest music prodigy continues to blow minds with his debut EP, popularly referred to as the Eastside EP.

Akim Oda is a town in Ghana and is the capital of the Birim Central Municipal Assembly and also the traditional capital of the Akyem Kotoku, one of the three Akyem states, in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

The town is noted mainly for its cocoa and wood production and dotted mining sites across the enclave.

In terms of music, the town has produced many talents, many of whom did not have the opportunity to gain countrywide attention, except Kuami Eugene of Lynx Entertainment who has gained international repute, and who is a native of the town.

The current generation of musical talent from the town appear to be shattering the glass ceiling though, and changing the narrative, most notably Joey Papking of Jas Muzik.

Born Precious Kwadwo Ofori Frimpong on 10th April 2000 at the Akim-Oda Government Hospital to Cynthia Frimpong and Paa Willie of Akim-Oda (both of blessed memory), Joey Papking had his Basic Education at Joduro Integrated School, Akim Oda.

After his BECE, he was enrolled at the Prestigious all-boys Osei Tutu Senior High School in Akropong in the Ashanti Region where he wrote his WASSCE.

Having demonstrated his musical talent at a tender age, Joey continued to harness his gifting until he was signed unto the Jas Muzik label.

With the release of his debut EP which features prominent musicians like AMG Medikal and Camidoh, it is without a doubt that Joey is destined for the very top.

Blessed with a lyrical dexterity that allows him to rap and sing in equal measure, you only need to listen to his EP to identify greatness in the making.

So to all music lovers, and supporters of genuine talent, this portal presents to you Joey Papking, the latest kid on the block carrying the musical aspirations of a town on the Eastside, which is home to over 70,000 Ghanaians.
