E-Levy Will Lead To Lost Of Jobs – John Dumelo Cries

Ghanaian actor John Dumelo, staunch member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has shared his concern about the 1.75% Electronic Transaction Levy [E-Levy].

Mr. Dumelo noted that while it is desirable for the country to produce cash domestically, doing so with regard to the E-Levy will have the opposite impact.

The government argues that the E-Levy will help to develop more roads and provide more work possibilities for the youth, but Mr. Dumelo disagrees, claiming that the E-implementation Levy’s will be counterproductive.

“Domestic revenue generation is positive, but the e-adoption levy’s will be counterproductive. We will not achieve a cashless economy, we will lose jobs, and we will not achieve financial inclusion. a remedy “, he explained.

To the proud farmer and politician the best way this e-levy can be handled is to be reduced to 1% with a minimum threshold of at least GHC 200.00, this he described as solution.

“Solution; e-levy at 1% (great contribution to fiscal consolidation), minimum threshold should be at least 200gh.
