In a rather interesting twist to the ongoing electronic transactions levy debate, the NDC has threatened to reject a secret voting on the controversial levy as the bill returns to the plenary this week.
This comes after allegations that some NDC MPs have received a bribe of GHS 100,000 from government to break ranks with their caucus on the matter.
NDC MP for Tamale Central, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed has said that his party does not want a secret voting since they do not trust some of their own members.
This comes after a similar allegation of bribery was levelled against some unnamed NDC MPs by US-based Ghanaian journalist, Kevin Ekow Taylor.
The NDC caucus has also said that they want voting on the e-levy to be delayed until Speaker, Alban Bagbin returns from his health trip abroad.
According to deputy minority leader, James Klutse Avedzi, they do not want another member of the majority presiding over the house to avert further violent clashes.
