E-levy Most Ridiculous Propaganda By Akufo-Addo And Bawumia Government – Joyce Bawah

President Akufo-Addo and his vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, have been chastised by Joyce Bawah Mogtari, a former advisor to former President John Dramani Mahama, for being too ‘headstrong’ in pushing through the disputed E-levy.

The E-levy has drawn public and parliamentary attention in recent weeks as the administration lobbies for its passage, citing the risk of the economy collapsing if it is not.

While the majority of NPP MPs support the fee, a small group of NDC MPs oppose it, calling it a “draconian tax” that will throw Ghanaians out of work.

According to a poll, 9 out of 10 Ghanaians are adamantly opposed to the fee, according to Joyce Bawah Mogtari in a recent social media post.

She chastised the administration for its unwillingness to listen to Ghanaians’ hardship.

“Of all the PR gimmicks and propaganda used by this @NAkufoAddo and @MBawumia government so far, the E-levy hoax is the most absurd.” According to polls, nine out of ten Ghanaians oppose the E-levy. Despite this, the administration remains obstinate and, in some circumstances, oblivious to the suffering of the people. “Acta non verba!” she exclaimed on her Facebook page.

E-levy, if passed, will levy a 1.75 percent fee on all electronic transactions, including mobile money.
