This portal has learned that the widely publicized bizarre episode that occured at the meeting convened yesterday by the IGP between the Police Management Board and the creative arts industry nearly ended in another arrest of dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale.
Apparently, all participants in the meeting had been informed that the meeting was a private event and therefore there should be no phone recordings but Shatta Wale, who probably was not present at the time the directive was issued brought out his phone.
When a Police Officer sought to remind the dancehall artiste of the fact that he was to put away his phone, his disdainful mannerisms and actions infuriated the no-nonsense COP Kofi Boakye who ordered for the artiste to be detained.
However, after much pleading by others present at the meeting, Shatta Wale escaped detention and was allowed back into the meeting after some time.
Shatta Wale, after being granted access back into the meeting room is said to have knelt down before the IGP and his leadership in a reverent apology.
