CPP’s Kwame Jantuah Proposed Adoption of a Long Term Development Plan Instead of Manifestos

The CEO of African Energy Consortium and a Member of the Convention People’s Party urges political parties to adopt a long term development plan instead of a Manifesto.

According to Mr. Jantuah, Manifestos are not the right way to go. Any political party who wants to prove their potentials to the citizenry would put it in a document as a marketing tool for campaign purposes because there is no active long term development plan that would regulate the activities of a political party subsequent to wining an election.
“This goes to reinforce my assertion that Manifestos are not the right way to go, if we had an active long term development plan, political parties would take out of that plan what they intend doing”

He proposed that there must be an active continuous long term development plan that would serve as a control and a measure of performance of political parties instead of their individual Manifestos.

Responding to the NDC and the NPP’S Brouhaha on failed Manifesto promises on GHToday, Mr. Jantuah said no Political Party can be blamed for failing to fulfil their manifesto promises because they are not mandated to do so.

Mr. Jantuah lamented on how projects are left unattended to because a new party in power feels they don’t have the responsibly to complete a project started by their predecessors.

He called on the media to constantly hold the politicians accountable for the promises they make to the citizenry.
