Covid-19: Delta Strain On The Rise As 10 Persons Killed By The Virus In Kumasi Within 13 Days

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) together with Metropolitan Health Directorate and the Public Health Emergency Committee have revealed that the Metropolis has reported over 200 Delta Variant cases.

According them within 13days, 10 persons have died within the metropolis as a result of the Delta Variant.

They attributed the upsurge of cases to the general disregard for covid-19 safety protocols, funerals, parties and other social gatherings.

In a press release issued on 19/07/21, the Assembly entreated all as a matter of urgency to continue to adhere to all covid-19 safety protocols.

They went ahead to encourage that, the media should intensify the education and sensitization of the deadly virus and its safety protocols.
