Spokesperson of the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Campaign Team, James Agyenim Boateng has insisted that President Akufo Addo’s decisions on curbing Covid-19 has been based on political signs and not science and data as Ghanaians have been made to believe.
Speaking with with Kwame Afrifa Mensah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, Agyenim Boateng stated that the Presidents decisions are focused on amassing votes in the December polls and not the health of Ghanaians.
“The president always says he is guided by data and science. Looking at what is happening, it appears the science he is talking about are ‘signs’ and not the science we know. His decisions are actually guided by political signs. There is nothing about this that is based on science,” he stated.
He added that Akufo Addo was not living up to his statement, “we know how to bring the economy back to life. What we do not know is how to bring people back to life.”
“Subsequent to his quote, all that the president has done is to put lives into peril because he is thinking about the next elections. Most of the decisions he has taken are not because he wants to save lives but to score votes in the elections.”
President Akufo Addo in his series of addresses to the nation concerning the Covid-19, always insisted his decisions have been backed by science and data.
