Court Orders Owusu Bempah’s Bank To Pay GHS 300,000 To Ibrahim Mahama For Defamation – His House To Be Sold

A High Court in Accra has ordered the National Investment Bank, bankers of Ghana Gas P.R.O, Ernest Owusu Bempah to pay an amount of GHS 300,000 to Mr Ibrahim Mahama after Mr Bempah was found guilty of defaming the business mogul.

The Court also ordered that if the amount in the account is not up to the 300k, the entire account should be emptied to settle the amount.

The Court presided over by Justice Georgina Mensah Datsa ruled that the comments of the outspoken politician on UTV Despite Media were defamatory of business Mogul, Ibrahim Mahama.

Mr. Mahama who is CEO of Engineers and Planners had sued both UTV and Owusu Bempah demanding GH¢2 million for the defamatory comments.

This portal understands that the money in Mr Bempah’s account was not up to the 300k, hence Mr Ibrahim Mahama has initiated steps to put a 3-bedroom house in Tema belonging to Mr Bempah for sale in order to pay the full amount.
