Court Had To Punish Akuapem Poloo Because Such Cases Have Become Too Much – Judge Explains

Actress and socialite, Akuapem Poloo has been sentenced to a three month jail term by an Accra Circuit Court.

The Court presided over by Her Honour Mrs. Christiana Cann, according to StarrFM, said such cases is becoming prevalent in society, and Institutions including the court must act; noting that  it took into consideration all the plea for mitigation before arriving at the decision.

Akuapem Poloo was on Wednesday convicted on her own plea by the Circuit Court in Accra after pleading guilty to three charges, thus the publication of obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence, namely conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy or integrity and engaging in domestic violence that in any way detracts or is likely to detract from another person’s dignity and worth as a human being.

She was sentenced to 90 days on each count but the court said, the sentence must run concurrently, meaning she will only serve a 90-day jail term which is three months.
