An Accra Circuit Court has discharged some twenty-two out of fifty-one alleged ‘Western Togoland’ secessionists.
This came after the prosecution led by Assistant Superintendent (ASP) Sylvester Asare told the court that there have been changes in the fact sheets and charges; however the reason why they were being freed was not known.
Lawyers of the secessionists were elated they’ve been discharged however, feared the police might rearrest them.
In September, police arrested these secessionists after an attack on State Transport Corporation in Ho and other rioting activities in the Volta region.
