Corruption Has Become A Beauty Pageant Under Akufo-Addo – Tamakloe

A member of the National Democratic Congress’ Legal Team, Lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe has claimed that corruption has become a beauty pageant under President Akufo-Addo and his government. He made this claim on TV3’s weekend programme dubbed KEY POINTS today.

According to him, The New Patriotic Party showcase corruption every day without shame”. His comments come after the CDD published it’s post election survey results.

“If the opposition National Democratic Congress have power, they could prosecuted some officials of this current administration. Opposition parties do not the powers to prosecute. What they do, is to highlight corrupt actions and bring them (corrupt actions) to public domain. Most dubious deals by this government would have remained in secret if not for the vigilance of the minority in parliament”.

The Legal Practioner believes that the CDD was very generous to the President Nana Akuffo Addo and his New Patriotic Party Government in their recent survey results.

” We have done our own research and it revealed that the corruption perception index is about eighty percent (80%). I think the CDD was very generous to the government”.

New Patriotic Party’s Garry Nimako disagree with CDD on the relative small sample size. “Two thousand four hundred (2,400) people, do not represent majority of Ghanaians. Next time use about half of the voter population size”, he voiced out.

Lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe responded to the NPP member’s claim by saying this: ” The New Patriotic Party is doing what lawyers do in court. They are trying to discredit the basics of the survey. If they are able to do that, then the survey becomes a hoax. They admit that the survey has given them feedback. However, they are not comfortable with the corruption part of it”.
