Coronavirus: ‘Sick’ Students Would Be Allowed To Sit For WASSCE Exams At Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis

The Ghana Education Service earlier disclosed that, final year students sick with the coronavirus diseases would have to sit for the West African Senior Certificate Examinations(WASSCE) exams next year or  better still the November – December(NOV/DEC) exams.

However, Rev. Mrs. Elizabeth Akuoku, the Sekondi- Takoradi Director of Education has revealed that, all final year students in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis would be allowed to sit for the WASSCE exams with those tested positive for the coronavirus inclusive.

Mrs. Elizabeth Akuoku stated that, all those who were tested positive for the disease had undergone another test after  a 14-day isolation period  with their results coming out as negative.

“They are all asymptomatic, they have recovered and some have even tested negative so they are all back on campus,” she indicated.

She also included that, “Even those who were contact traced are all well so every candidate is writing the exams.”
 

She however advised all candidates to observe the safety protocol measures in order to stop any spread or infection of the COVID-19 disease.
