Consider My Long Service To NPP – Dr. Apraku Pleads With Delegates

The Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) Commissioner for Macroeconomic Policy and Research, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates to vote for him as the presidential candidate due to his long service to the party.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s last week, the long-standing member of NPP said he has the capacity to lead the party to victory in the 2024 general election.

“I think they (the party) should reward DrApraku with the leadership of the party. That is all I think. They should reward DrAkpraku because I have the capacity to deliver to the people of Ghana,” he said.

Dr Apraku who had stood for the NPP presidential ticket several times added that he was seeking for the position because “I believe I have the capacity and capability to deliver (development and progress) to the people of Ghana.”

“I have the capability, I can take this country to a completely different trajectory. The person who has the best chance to win for us and the person who has the capacity to deliver.”

According to him, the party needed someone who could sustain it by not only breaking the eight, but also generating the confidence of the people.

According to Dr Apraku, who is also a former Minister of State and Member of Parliament, when elected by the party to contest in the 2024 election, his goal would be to ensure a “sustainable and resilient economy where people will be free and live in dignity and make sure that the rules, regulations and laws work the way they are, irrespective of personality. I want us to create greater accountability for government.”

Dr Akpraku said he will pick nomination forms to contest the presidential slot when the party opens nominations.

He contested the 1998, 2007, 2010 and 2014 of the NPP’s presidential primaries but failed to win any of these races.

However, he is still hopeful that he holds the key to unite the party and move the country forward.
