Businessman Tried To Influence MPs To Drop Calls For Ofori-Atta’s Sacking – Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu Reveals
Majority leader and MP for Suame, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has claimed that a well known businessman visited the precints of parliament in an attempt to influence MPs on the majority side to drop their calls for the sacking of finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
According to the Suame MP, he was reliably informed that the said businessman met some of the MPs in Parliament in an attempt to intervene for the finance minister but was sent packing by the lawmakers who refused to back down on their demands.
Mr. Kyei Mensah Bonsu, however, declined to say if the said lawmakers were offered any financial inducements or bribes by the businessman.
Meanwhile, MP for Asante Akyem Central, Andy Appiah Kubi has rubbished claims that he and his colleagues on the majority side who initiated the mutiny have been bribed to back down.
According to him, their actions are backed solely by their convictions and conscience and cannot be swayed by financial inducements.
