Richard Ahiagbah, the Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has shared insights into Ghana’s healthcare system following his recent experience at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), where he was admitted for weeks. Ahiagbah, who was involved in a car accident while traveling from Accra to Kumasi, sustained injuries and received treatment at the facility.
After being discharged, Ahiagbah took to social media to express gratitude for his recovery and pledged to become an advocate for improvements at KATH. He mentioned that his time in the hospital provided him with a deeper understanding of the challenges and strengths of the healthcare system in Ghana.
In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Ahiagbah noted that while he still has some healing to do, he is optimistic about his recovery. He also highlighted his commitment to supporting the development of KATH, aiming to contribute to enhancing healthcare delivery at the facility.
Despite the severity of the accident, Ahiagbah’s recovery is progressing, and he is expected to fully return to his duties soon. His experience underscores the importance of addressing healthcare needs in Ghana and ensuring that facilities like KATH receive the support they need.
