The New Patriotic Party (NPP) must put politics aside and be courageous enough to reprimand Tema West legislator, Carlos Ahenkorah for his misbehaviour in Parliament on January 7, governance analyst, Mr Kojo Addo has said.
Carlos Ahenkorah while counting was ongoing to select speaker for the 8th Parliament, snatched a ballot sheet and bolted with it, however was apprehended quickly by highly vigilant NDC MPs.
Mr Ahenkorah has since offered apologies in a statement, saying he did what he did for President Akufo-Addo and the NPP.
Speaking on the issue, Mr Kojo Addo noted that Carlos Ahenkorah’s conduct “dent his credibility as a lawmaker”, adding that it is disgrace to the country as a whole.
He called on the NPP General Secretary Mr. John Boadu and the party’s leadership to muster the courage and unequivocally condemn the lawmaker’s “unfortunate action”.
