Bawumia Will Win NPP Flagbearer Race With 72% – New Research Predicts

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President, is poised to secure a significant victory in the upcoming Special Delegates Conference of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) with an impressive 72%, as indicated by recent research conducted by the Centre for Sustainable African Development Initiatives (C-SADI) in the UK and The Outcomes International in Ghana.

Among the ten individuals vying for the NPP’s flagbearer position, the study revealed that Vice President Dr. Bawumia will not only be among the five candidates chosen by the Special Delegates Conference but will also hold a substantial advantage, outperforming his nearest competitor by a significant margin of 64.9 percentage points.

According to the research, the top five candidates will be: H.E. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia with 72.6% of the votes; Hon. Alan Kyeremanten with 7.7% of the votes; Hon.  Kennedy Agyapong with  4.3% of the votes; Hon.  Kwabena Agyapong with 1.8% of the votes; and  Hon. Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto with 0.6% of the votes.  11.7% of the voters in the Special Delegates Conference are still undecided as of the time of the research.

The report’s findings state that delegates evaluating candidates primarily consider the candidate’s vision for both the party and the country, as well as their competence. Delegates from the special electoral college are of the belief that the party has a strong potential to secure electoral success if they maintain unity following the primary elections.
