Emmanuel Okyere, a key member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), believes Vice President Dr Mahammudu Bawumia has the ability to lead the party to victory in 2024 if given the chance.
“The NPP currently needs someone who can lead us to break the eight-year string in 2024,” says the Kumasi-based businessman, “and so far, Dr Bawumia has proved his capabilities as a person who can lead us to success.”
In an interview with journalists on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the NPP Annual National Delegates Conference in Kumasi, he urged members to remain dedicated to their work in order for the Party to retain power in the 2024 general election.
Vice President Bawumia, according to Emmanuel Okyere, is very popular on the political front and has also proved his skill, indicating that he could help the party break its eight-year political stranglehold.
“Dr Bawumia has done a tremendous job for the government and the party, particularly in the 2016 and 2020 elections,” he says, noting that he (Dr Bawumia) has gained support for the party from northern Ghana.
He stated that Dr. Bawumia had the vision, capacity, and good programs to manage the economy and offer higher living standards for all Ghanaians, emphasizing the need of every member supporting his candidacy and working to break the ‘8’.
Emmanuel Okyere went on to say that, given what Dr Bawumia has done for the party, he will have no trouble marshalling his expertise to keep the party in power in the 2024 presidential elections against the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
