Bawumia Not Relevant In Ghana’s Politics, People Don’t Take Him Serious— Mahama’s Aide Fires

A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Ewudzie Tamakloe has slammed vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for telling Mahama to apologise to the people of Akyem on an ethnocentric comment made over the week.

According to the lawyer, who was speaking on OkayFM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ Morning Show, the Vice President only jumped into the discussion because he is seeking to make himself relevant on the political scene again.

“This is a Vice President who today has become a butt of public jokes; completely not relevant as far as Ghana’s politics. People don’t take him serious whenever he speaks. This is a Vice President who goes about to do public delivery or whatever and less than 24 hours, nobody talks about it. He is a discredited person,” he slammed.

Lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe wondered why Dr Bawumia forego to touch on the economy during his campaign trail, and only trumpeted tribalism.

“Why is he no longer talking about public debt? In all the campaigns he is doing at the northern part of the country, have you seen him talk about public debt again? This is because he has no credibility,” he indicated.

“He told us that he once worked as a Deputy Governor of Bank of Ghana and that we have money in the country. Since he came into office as a Vice President, within the space of three years, they have taken our public debt from 120 billion Ghana Cedis to 250 billion Cedis,” he added.
