Bawumia Needs E-Wisdom To Understand Ghana’s Problem Not Digitalization – Social Media Activist

Ivan Kyie Innocent, a social analyst and young activist, has slammed the Vice-President for several remarks he made during his digitization lecture at Ashesi University.

He questioned why the Vice-President should be concerned about digitization when he (the Vice-President) should be focused on the country’s economy as the leader of the country’s economic management team.

In response to the Vice-speech President’s on digitization, he said it was absurd for Dr. Bawumia to use such a large stage to celebrate what he called trivial gains the government has made in the field of digitization.

He explained that, whereas other countries invest heavily in information technology infrastructure to alter their economies, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia praises his administration for seemingly insignificant initiatives like mobile money interoperability.

“Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is digitally primitive, he needs E- knowledge to comprehend the difficulties that Ghanaians face,” Ivan Kyie Innocent remarked on the Abranasoo Show presented by Okatakyie on November 6.

He suggested that if Ghana wants to demonstrate its commitment to the Information Communication drive, it should invest enough money in institutions like the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to help tap into the creativity of young Ghanaians with an interest in and desire for information technology.

He claimed that Netflix, which has grown into a global brand for streaming movies, was founded by a young man, and that if the government is interested in the information technology sector, it should invest in the sector to support the creative teeming youth who come up with apps that can, for example, be a platform where people can go to watch Ghanaian movies.
