Baffour Owusu Amankwaatia IV, Bantamahene is expected to pay a fine of forty six sheep to Manhyia Palace by the end of this week or risk being destooled.
He was to produce a total of forty eight rams to appease the Palace after he reneged on his sacred oath to the King and Golden Stool. However, he was obliged to produce two rams immediately after he was found guilty of constructing stores on land which he was not entitled to, and for diverting the course of the subin river for private gain.
The Bantamahene, also the head of the Kronti division in Asanteman had to beg on his knees for clemency from the Asantehene last week after his misdeeds had been reported to the Overlord who was infuriated at his sub-chiefs actions.
Despite acceding to the pleas of the Bantamahene not to destool him, Otumfuor ordered all the illegally constructed stores to be immediately demolished, and the course of the Subin river restored.
