Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency Declared Coronavirus Hotspot In Accra By Ghana Health Service

The infamous Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in Accra has been named as a place with the current high record of COVID-19 cases in the country.

The Ayawaso Municipality is made up areas such as East Legon, Airport, Dzorwulu, Legon and Abelemkpe.

Report from the Ghana Health Service indicates that, out of the 179 cases of the confirmed cases recorded in the National Capital from the 11th of July came from the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.


Dr. Badu Sarkodie, the Director of the Public Health at the Ghana Health Service revealed that, 12 out of the 29 districts recorded 179 new cases.

However, a total of 264 new cases were recorded nationwide.

Dr. Badu Sarkodie said,  out of the 14 districts in the Ashanti Region, 18 new cases had been recorded in 6 districts with Kumasi having the majority of cases.

Western Region also has 49 new cases in 3 out of the 14 districts with Wassa Amenfi East leading in the number of cases.

The Director of Public Health said the majority of the cases in Eastern Region came from Lower Manya Krobo  as 12 news cases were recorded in 3 out of 33 districts in that Region.
