Auditor General Leave Order Proves Akufo Addo Is Not Incorruptible As Claimed – Lecturer

A Political Marketing Expert and Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr. Kobby Mensah has stated that President Akufo Addo’s decision to force the Auditor General, Daniel Domelevo on leave proofs he is not incorruptible as Ghanaians have been made to believe.

Speaking on Starr FM he said, “you can’t go to the people and say you’re the incorruptible man because you have actually eroded that perception. If you can easily dismiss your auditor general, what you have done is to erode that gain that you had.”

President Akufo Addo on June 29, 2020 directed Mr Domelevo to take his accumulated annual leave of 123 working days.

A response by the Auditor General disagreeing with the President’s stance, further led to the increase of his leave from 123 days to 167.

The President has since received backlash from many groups and CSO’s, however that has done little to make him recall the auditor general.
