General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has explained what he meant by ‘any idiot can go to court’ after the then opposition NPP decided to contest the 2012 election results in court.
With the words coming back to haunt him and the NDC in 2020 after they’ve refused to concede defeat and being forced to go to court, Asiedu Nketia told Joy News that his statement back then only meant that judges are the only ones who can decide whether a case brought before it is sensible or not.
He further explained that he never meant anybody who went to court was an idiot; adding that people who interprete his statement that way have a problem with logic or English.
