Article 104, 4 Supports The Slaps I Gave Carlos; It Was A Constitutional Duty – Muntaka

Asawase Legislator, Muntaka Mubarak has stated that the constitution backs every action he took in the Parliamentary chamber, including beating Tema West MP, Carlos Ahenkorah for snatching a ballot sheet while counting was ongoing.

Speaking to Emefa Apawu on JoyNews’ The Probe Sunday, he noted that Carlos violated the rules of Parliamentary elections and apprehending him was his constitutional duty.

He noted that they had a hard time retrieving the stolen ballot from Carlos because he went extra mile to chew some, however fortunately they were able to get some back and completed the counting to announce Alban Bagbin winner.

“When Carlos Ahenkorah picked the sheets, we were struggling to get them. He tore some and put it in his mouth. Unfortunately, when we brought them and we put them together we noticed that some of the papers were not there.”

“That is why we insisted that fortunately once we have finished counting one which was 136 and there was one spoilt, it meant that rest is 138,” he said.

He continued: “I can bet you that we need to set up a committee to investigate the processes from all the issues that came up from the purported services that came in and the supposed bailiff who had the courage to come to the presence of parliament to serve the clerk which is against Article 115, 6 and 7.

“We will investigate that and investigate the disturbances, for example, why was I preventing somebody from putting the ballot paper in the box and I will tell you that it fringes on Article 104, 4 and so we will investigate all those things up to whoever authorized the Police and the Military into the chamber.”
