Election 2020

Another Blow For Tsikata As Supreme Court Dismisses His Application For Review

The Supreme Court has in a ruling delivered a few minutes ago, dismissed an application for review filed by counsel for the petitioners in the 2020 election petition.

The 9-member panel chaired by chief justice, Kwasi Anin Yeboah in their ruling averred that the Petitioner has failed to satisfy the requirements necessary for the court to review its own decision.

Counsel for the petitioners, Tsatsu Tsikata had filed an application for review seeking to plead with the court to vary its earlier decision not to allow interrogatories.

After back-and-forth arguments by Mr Tsikata and the counsel for the respondents on the other side, the court went on recess for minutes and returned with their ruling dismissing the application.

The Court will accordingly revert to the original seven-member panel to give directives on the substantive trial.
